Pocahontas House

Recovery Home for Men and Women

Louisiana Health and Rehab Center (LHRC)–Pocahontas House provides quality, comprehensive treatment to functionally homeless substance use disordered men and women who also have a positive diagnosis of HIV/AIDS or other physical conditions or stabilized mental illness in a safe, caring and supportive environment. Services will focus on clients developing and maintaining a healthy and safe drug-free lifestyle, with particular emphasis on the unique safety aspects required because of the comorbidity of substance use disorder and other physical conditions, including HIV/AIDS.

LHRC–Pocahontas House views substance use disorder as a destructive primary, progressive, fatal disease. While there is no cure for substance use disorder, we believe that recovery and flourishing lives are possible through trauma-informed systems of care and the time-tested 12-Step Recovery Program on which Pocahontas House treatment is based. Our foundational belief is that each individual has value and can reach their God-given potential.

The person-centered treatment modalities at LHRC–Pocahontas House holistically address clients’ needs by providing long-term residential substance abuse treatment, transportation, life skills, access to and management of medical care, and comprehensive case management services. These are all designed to promote the behavioral modifications necessary for an emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy and safe drug-free lifestyle.
